M5-C3: Reflective Activity

The Privy Council decided in 1994 that the British Crown’s Treaty obligations had been transferred to the New Zealand government and that in future issues about the Treaty should be addressed here because external bodies such as the Council did not have sufficient expertise about our historical, cultural and legal context.

As you learned in the early parts of this module, this decision creates other tensions, such as the question of how conflicts of interests would be addressed. Take a moment to reflect on what you’ve learned so far and note down your ideas for how to move forward.
